General Meetings
The APMC holds General Membership MeetinThe APMC brings moms, kids and families together to learn, play and explore – plus offer mom-to-mom support, friendship and fun! – through various club activities coordinated by the APMC Board and member moms. Our program year generally starts with the new school year, on or about September 1, although we offer activities and events through the summer, too!

Members can find specific event and activity information through:

gs throughout the club’s program year, generally August to May. These include meeting programs where moms and kids play and learn together, while others encourage “me time” for moms to gather to connect with other members and enjoy speakers or explore topics important to Austinite moms to the infant, toddler and preschool set.
Contact the APMC President, Emily Stevens at Emily@austinmothers.org for more information.

MOM-KID PROGRAMS

Playgroups
Weekly get-togethers to chat and play, and as the kids get older, to explore Austin’s kid-friendly destinations with friends. THE best way to really get to know other moms and kids.
Our Playgroups page has more info about our current playgroups.

Field Trips
These all-club outings occur at least once each month and are an essential part of getting to know Austin if you’re new to town, new to parenting here or just want some new ideas on where to take the kiddos. Recent field trips have included visits to a local fire station, Crowe’s Nest Farm and the Austin Science & Nature Center. It's a great opportunity to get adult conversation while entertaining the kids at the same time.
Contact the APMC Field Trip Coordinator, AnneMarie Melendrez at AnnMarie@austinmothers.org for more information.

Community Service
Despite our hectic lives, we all strive to give both at home and beyond. Each year, APMC's community service team find ways for our members to help the community in simple ways that mean so much to others, while providing our families with a way to experience the joy of helping together!
Contact the Community Service Coordinator, Becky Hockadayat Becky@austinmothers.org for more information.

JUST MOMS

Mom’s Night Out
Time for mom! We go out once a month – at least! – to various places around town for a girl's night out. This is when we get to sample Austin eateries, fun activities, catch a film or just gather to enjoy each others company. Essential to a re-energized, happier mom.
Contact the Moms Night Out coordinator, Natalie Rickards at Natalie@austinmothers.org for more information.

Book Club
Lots of APMC moms use reading to unwind, escape and, well, just use a different part of the brain than the day-to-day of kids, family, work, volunteer might bring. Participants contribute ideas for each selection, so the list is diverse and dynamic. Meetings are every other month and meet at local coffee shops for a balance of book-related exchange of ideas and just catching up!
Contact the Book Club Coordinator, Elizabeth McCain at Elizabeth@austinmothers.org for more information.

Movie Night
Looking for a chance to cool off? Movie Night will usually be held once a month and be either a matinee or an early evening show. If the group is up for it, we will head out for coffee or other beverages after the film. Due to the nature of movie schedules I will post the movie title, movie location and time a few days before. I will shoot for a start time between 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. for matinees. Feel free to send me your preferences for movie selections. I will certainly take them into consideration.
Contact the Movie Night Coordinator, Kristie Hemenway at Kristie@austinmothers.org for more information.

Member Outreach
One of the greatest benefits of APMC is that we moms can share with each other the unique joys and trials of parenting preschoolers. From time to time, however, some of us need more than friendship – we need hands-on help! The arrival of a new baby, a death in the family, an illness, a move to a new home - events such as these provide us the chance to do more for our fellow moms. This service can take many forms: providing a meal, holding a baby so a new mom can nap or shower, taking a toddler to the park so a sick mom can sleep or other ways to lend a hand.
Contact the Member Outreach Coordinator, Raquel Dadomo at Raquel@austinmothers.org for more informaiton.

Mothers' Renewal Group
The Mothers’ Renewal Group meets the last Tuesday of every month at Austin Java on Lamar. The monthly meetings are based on the themes in the book The Mother’s Guide to Self Renewal by Renee Trudeau. The primary purpose of the group is to encourage each other not to lose touch with the many other roles we enjoyed before motherhood. All moms are welcome to join us at any point during the year.
Contact the Renewal Group Coordinator, Elizabeth McCain at Elizabeth@austinmothers.org for more information.

Special Events
Over the years, the APMC has hosted some pretty lively and varied events, from Hill Country retreats to Zilker Critter Carnivals, and we’re always looking for new ways to enjoy Austin, our kids and one another’s company…so join us for our upcoming special events and suggest a new one!
