2009-2010 Monthly General Meetings

HOW: For 2009-2010 we'll replicate the flip-flop in format/location/day that we did last year, since that seemed to balance schedules, geography and opportunities to enjoy our meetings. That means we'll have two formats:
Mom's Time: We'll offer a speaker or other structured program, and have childcare available for the kiddos. Although many of our member-moms love the opportunity to enjoy time with our little ones just down the hall, please know they are welcome at the meetings if you're more comfortable having them with you.

*A quick note, too, that we have a new childcare provider for our Mom's Time meetings, a mom-owned company called utimes2. We are thrilled to be able to keep our prices to members the same ($10 for the first child, $5 for the second), and confident utimes2's owner, Emily Kessler, will provide us with excellent childcare help. Mom & Me: We're putting together some interactive programs to enjoy time with our kids in a group, with a program that makes the most of our time together.

WHEN: As we did last year, we will flip-flop days, Tuesday mornings for the Mom & Me programs, and Wednesday mornings for the Mom's Time format. This year we're meeting the FIRST Tuesday/Wednesday of the month (see list of dates below). And we're sticking with the 9:30-11:30am timeframe, allowing chat time - and some leeway for those inevitable suprises en route! - before and after our program starts at 10:00am.

WHERE: We have a NEW location for our Wednesday/Mom's Time meetings (where we'll offer childcare), the Highland Park Baptist Church at 5206 Balcones Drive. That's just off the 2222/Northland exit of Mopac, west on 2222, then south on Balcones for about 1/4 mile - you can see the church steeple from Mopac. We switched primarily to reduce our meeting costs AND since Mopac represents a main thoroughfare for many of our club members, we thought it might be a smidge more convenient. While we're excited about the new space, we greatly appreciate the help from our friends at First Unitarian Universalist Church of Austin last year!

We are also pleased that the TownLake YMCA has agreed to let us use their multi-purpose room again for our Tuesday/Mom & Me format meetings - yay! - so that part will stay the same.

Join us for some Obstacle Course fun at the YMCA Townlake!

Do you have a child that likes to move and groove? Then we've got just the thing for you!

We'll have the kiddos crawling through tunnels, shooting some hoops, tossing bean bags, running around the cone zone, hopping, bopping, wiggling and more.

There will also be a special area set up for the wee ones and early crawlers.
